Ever since my diy puffy eyes serum blew up on Pinterest, I had a realization: times are tough and women are looking for ways to self-care without a soul-crushing Sephora bill.

So I’m bringing this new series to my blog, ‘Evening Rituals,’ to give you fresh ideas for how to wind-down before hitting the sheets—and most everything featured will be DIY.

If you’ve been following my blog, you know I’m loving matcha for its anti-anxiety health benefits but did you know it also has magical properties for the skin? I’m talking acne-fighting, anti-inflammatory, redness-soothing goodness.

With just honey and matcha powder, this face mask is a powerhouse of nutrients, enzymes, and beneficial compounds.

Not only is it 100% clean and natural, but it’s pore-cleansing, anti-bacterial and calming to your skin.

The best part? It couldn’t be ANY easier to throw together.

When my matcha starts losing its freshness, this is my go-to. I love to come home from work, put my hair in a messy bun and pop on this mask with an episode of the Office.

A word of warning though: my doggy tried to lick my face so just keep animals with a sweet tooth off the couch while you chill.

So let’s get into it…

DIY Matcha + Honey Face Mask Recipe

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder (cooking grade is fine) 1 teaspoon of honey A splash of boiling water

Instructions:

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and add water slowly to achieve your desired consistency. Let cool. Apply it to the face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Do it once a week for a month to see best results.

⟡ Pro-tip: with the first time trying any new ingredient on the skin, always try a patch test first.

And that’s it. Easy-peasy: stay tuned for more relaxing wind-down ideas in this blog series.

And if you love this kinda thing, check out my two-ingredient caffeine eye serum for tired, puffy days. You probably have both ingredients already in your pantry.

And grab my freebie evening routine planner while you're at it for tons more self-care ideas.
